The Best Detox Tee: Our Choices

Guide: Questions you should ask yourself before buying a detox tea

What are the advantages of detox tea over a regular diet?

First and foremost, detox tea provides detoxification, cleansing of the body. Whereas a regular diet focuses only on weight loss. However, when used correctly, the addition of detox tea can also boost fat burning. Detox tea should not be thought of as a miracle cure that makes body fat disappear in an instant while you're grabbing a burger.

Detox tea is the complement to a healthy lifestyle, because even the best detox tea can't help you if you don't adjust your diet. We often associate a regular diet with deprivation, which often leads us to break the diet prematurely. The advantage of a detox tea cure is that we can eat a balanced diet, do not have to go without and can boost our metabolism with the help of a detox tea. This helps to bring the pounds tumbling down.

Apart from the weight loss that becomes noticeable when detox tea is consumed regularly, detox tea also revitalises the mind. Thus, the so-called weight loss tea not only ensures increased circulation, but also new energy and a better sense of well-being.

Just make sure you drink your tea without milk, sugar or other sweeteners. Otherwise you'll be adding calories to yourself again.

Who is detox tea suitable for?

A detox tea cure is suitable for anyone who needs new energy, wants to get their circulation going or flush toxins out of their body. Above all, however, detox tea is suitable for people with the goal of losing weight. Detox tea is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, as green tea is often used in detox tea.

This contains caffeine, which pregnant and breastfeeding women should largely avoid. In addition, detox tea is not suitable as a food substitute, but only as a food supplement. Caution is therefore advised for people with eating disorders, which is why the use of detox tea should definitely be clarified with a doctor.

Where can you buy tea for weight loss?

Since we distinguish between herbal teas that are suitable as detox teas and ready-mixed detox teas, availability varies accordingly. Ultimately, both types are available both online and offline. Green tea, ginger tea and nettle tea are widely available in most supermarkets, drugstores and health food stores.

You can also buy these teas online, but according to our research, most customers prefer to buy them locally. Ready-mixed detox tea, on the other hand, is mainly marketed and purchased online.

How much does detox tea cost?

Detoxing with individual teas is extremely inexpensive and recommended for those who want to focus on a specific spectrum of effects when detoxing. However, the large manufacturers advertise a so-called detox tea cure. This means that the ready-mixed detox tea must be taken daily over a certain period of time.

Variety price
Named tea varieties approx. 1-20 euros
14-day detox cure approx. 10-25 euros
28-day detox cure approx. 20-50 euros

Ready-mixed detox tea usually consists of 100% natural ingredients, which naturally raises the price. According to our research, the ready-mixed cure variants are the absolute bestsellers and insatiable for successful detoxing. They contain different components which, in combination, have an extremely detoxifying and purifying effect.

Therefore, these specially blended teas are best suited for weight loss. All detox teas that we present on our site are provided with a link to a shop. So you can easily buy the detox tea that suits you best and soon start your detox process.

What are the differences between detox teas from different manufacturers?

The only difference between the various manufacturers is that they have selected different ingredients. To a large extent, all manufacturers use only natural ingredients, but the effect can still vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, as different herbs have different effects. Therefore, before buying, you should take a look at the ingredients and read up on their effects online. In summary, it can be said that all manufacturers specialise in the following spectrums with their detox teas:

  • Weight reduction
  • Metabolism
  • Detoxification
  • Digestion
  • Relaxation

[/su_list] [/su_note] A detox tea should be chosen according to the individual desire for success. For example, there are teas that stimulate fat burning, teas with or without caffeine, teas for lightness and well-being, etc.

What are the side effects of detox tea?

Detox teas can have some harmless side effects, but these will appear after a few days. Once the side effects have subsided, there is only one direction to go: up! The first few days of the detoxification cure may cause skin blemishes.

This happens because the body is excreting the toxins. If you continue to take the tea regularly, your skin will improve. Detox tea contains a lot of dietary fibre, which can lead to diarrhoea and flatulence. To keep the mineral balance, you should drink plenty of water. If you reduce your food portions while taking detox tea, you may feel hungry. However, this should subside after a short period of adjustment.

When / How often to drink tea for weight loss?

Ready-mixed detox teas should be drunk once a day. You should check the ingredients to see if they contain caffeine. Caffeinated detox tea is therefore more suitable in the morning than in the evening. Otherwise the weight loss tea, like coffee or energy drinks, can lead to difficulties in falling asleep. Some people use detox teas for fasting. This means that they abstain from solid food altogether and feed only on herbal tea.

This is suitable for detoxification, but not for weight loss, as weight may be reduced in the short term, but the yo-yo effect can set in when you return to your usual eating habits after the fast. In addition, detox tea does not cover all nutrients, which is why you should not limit yourself to just the tea during a detox tea cure.

Teas such as ginger tea and nettle tea can be drunk several times a day. Green tea, on the other hand, should be taken slowly, as it contains caffeine. Too much of it can lead to the side effects mentioned above, such as dizziness and palpitations. In addition, due to the caffeine, it should only be consumed in moderation by pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Preferably, however, pregnant and breastfeeding women should switch to another tea, as too much green tea can cause nervousness.

The good thing is that herbal teas and green tea (unsweetened!) have almost no calories. Therefore, they fit well if you want to eat a low-calorie diet.

Decision: What types of detox tea are there and which is right for you?

The most common detox teas are the following:

  • Green Tea
  • Ginger Tea
  • Nettle Tea
  • Mixed Detox Tea

Each tea has individual active ingredients that bring different benefits and drawbacks. Which detox tea is best for you therefore depends on what effect you hope a detox tea will have. In order to find out, you should first know the effect, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of the detox teas and weigh them up for yourself.

For this purpose, we have compiled a list of this information for each detoxifying tea. This gives you an overview of all the teas and you can use this background information to decide on a detox tea that suits you best.

Detox tea is suitable for detoxing, but not for losing weight, as you may lose weight in the short term, but the yo-yo effect can set in when you return to your usual eating habits after fasting.

How does green tea work and what are its advantages and disadvantages?

Green tea is particularly known for its fat-burning properties. This is because the detoxifying tea contains caffeine, which gets our circulation going and therefore promotes not only concentration but also the urge to exercise. In addition, green tea contains bitter substances that can inhibit cravings.

Advantages
  • Supports fat burning
  • Boosts metabolism
  • Strengthens immune system
  • Reduces feeling of hunger
Disadvantages
  • Nervousness
  • Problems falling asleep
  • Palpitations
  • Dizziness

However, we should not forget that too much caffeine can cause nervousness, dizziness and palpitations, among other things. Therefore, green tea, like coffee, should be enjoyed in moderation.

How does ginger tea work and what are its advantages and disadvantages?

Ginger tea is a true all-rounder. Like green tea, it boosts the metabolism, supports digestion and therefore helps to burn fat. It is therefore also suitable as a weight loss tea.

Advantages
  • Promotes metabolism
  • Antibiotic
  • Digestive stimulant
  • Tonic
Disadvantages
  • Heartburn

Apart from its detoxifying effect, detox tea alsohelps with nausea and colds thanks to its antioxidant effect. Ginger tea also has a blood-thinning effect, which is actually beneficial. However, if you are going to have an operation, you should avoid ginger tea beforehand.

How does nettle tea work and what are its advantages and disadvantages?

Nettle tea has a stimulating effect. Therefore, it is best to drink it in the morning to wake up. However, it is just as good as a detox tea, as it has a detoxifying, diuretic and digestive effect.

Advantages
  • Boosts metabolism
  • Pick-me-up
  • Cleansing
  • Digestive
Disadvantages
  • Heart palpitations

So nettle tea flushes toxins from the body with ease. For some, however, the increased urge to urinate could be a disadvantage. The detox tea is also said to have a positive effect on skin and hair and can even fight urinary tract inflammation.

What are the ingredients of mixed detox tea and what are its advantages and disadvantages?

A blended detox tea is a ready-made tea mixture of different herbal teas. In these blends, care is taken to ensure that the teas included have a detoxifying effect. This means that the blended teas stimulate the metabolism, support fat burning and promote urination. Among other things, this leads to the effective flushing of toxins from your body.

Advantages
  • Detoxifying effects combined
  • Specialised in detoxification
Disadvantages
  • Price
  • Availability
  • No specific effect

All the teas mentioned above have a detoxifying effect, which in itself already makes them a detox tea. However, if you want to intensify the detoxifying effect, it is worth buying a ready-mixed detox tea. For this purpose, detoxifying teas are mixed together to maximise the positive effect.

Buying criteria: Use these factors to compare and evaluate detox teas

We would now like to show you how you can more easily decide which detox tea is suitable for you and which is not. To do this, you should compare and evaluate a few factors, which we will describe in more detail below. You will then weigh these according to your needs and when you are done, you will have your ideal detox tea. You should definitely consider these factors when making your purchase:

  • Weight
  • Format
  • Origin
  • Organic
  • Vegan
  • Caffeinated
  • Duration of use

We will now explain the purchase criteria one after the other and explain why they are relevant for your purchase decision and how you can find these factors in every tea for weight loss.

Weight

The weight of the detox tea tells you how long your tea will last. This is not insignificant if you buy a 14-day or 28-day course. A pack often contains not just one course of treatment, but several. In principle, you can assume that a pack of detox herbal tea contains an average of 100 g (however, this varies according to the specified duration of use). You need one teaspoon (2 g) of the herbal tea mixture per cup of tea.

Weight Quantity
2 grams of herbal tea blend 1 cup
100 grams of herbal tea blend 50 cups

For a 14-day cure, this would mean that one packet is even enough for three such cures, if the application provides for one cup per day. For a 28-day cure, it can be assumed that one tea pack can last for two cures. This means that when you buy your weight loss tea bag, you don't need to stock up for the time being if you plan to do several cures.

Unless a manufacturer says otherwise. Some manufacturers state that you should drink 3 cups per day during the detox tea cure. Accordingly, a bag of slimming tea will not last as long.

Format

Generally, there are two forms of tea: loose herbs and tea bags. With most ready-mixed teas for weight loss, you get the tea in the form of loose leaves/flowers. You can prepare the loose detox tea very simply using a tea infuser. Alternatively, if you want to prepare tea for several cups, you can also use a teapot with an integrated tea strainer.

Of course, there are also some manufacturers who use tea bags. However, these have the image that their contents are of inferior quality and only contain "leftovers". This myth can be denied with a look at the ingredients of the tea. As in every segment, there are also some black sheep in terms of quality when it comes to tea for weight loss.

However, most ready-mixed detox teas are of excellent quality, which can be filtered out using our criteria. Bag teas are primarily suitable for those who are in a hurry. However, tea bags are usually a little more expensive than loose tea. Loose tea has the advantage that it can be dosed individually and easily.

Origin

The country of origin is not a clear quality characteristic for tea varieties to begin with. According to our extensive research, China, India and Sri Lanka were the most important countries for tea imports in 2015.

You might also want to support the regional suppliers first, before you help yourself to imported goods. Since most of the ingredients are sourced from Germany by most of the manufacturers whose teas can be bought in this country, you have a large selection of different detox teas and do not have to do without detox tea.

Organic

Organic foods are foods that are sourced from organic farming. Since only pure herbal blends and occasionally dried fruit are used in teas, many manufacturers make sure to use organic herbs and fruit. The search for an organic detox tea will therefore be quite easy. We are part of a generation that often values organically grown food.

If it is also important to you that your tea is organic, you can easily recognise this by an organic seal on the packaging. Occasionally, however, it is not entirely obvious at first glance. If a product is organic, manufacturers also mention it in the product title or in the ingredients. This way you can be sure that your detox tea is organic.

Vegan

Vegan means that there are no animal products in tea. Since tea consists only of herbs and fruit, most detox teas are vegan. However, some manufacturers use animal-based fertilisers in the tea growing process. In addition, many detox teas contain flavourings. These are usually artificial, but can also come from bacteria or even animals.

Normally, honey should not be used in detox teas, as sugar should be avoided during the entire detox treatment. However, if you want to check again to be sure, you can read the exact ingredients on the list of ingredients on the packaging. Apart from that, you should look for the note "vegan" on the packaging as well as the product description and the vegan label that many manufacturers use. Then you can be sure that you are looking at a purely vegan product.

If this label suits you, you still have an almost unlimited choice of detox tea. If you want to be sure that no animal products were used in the production process, look for the word "vegan" on the packaging. (Photo: Comfreak / pixabay.com)

Caffeinated

There are several types of tea that contain caffeine and are often used in weight loss teas. These include white tea, green tea, matcha and oolong tea. Black tea also contains caffeine, but since it inhibits the absorption of iron, it is not at all suitable during a detoxification cure and should therefore be absolutely taboo.

Depending on whether you plan to drink the tea in the morning or in the evening, the caffeine content is decisive for the purchase decision. In the evening, you should avoid caffeinated tea, as it has a stimulating effect like coffee and can prevent you from falling asleep. Caffeinated tea is therefore recommended if you want to wake up in the morning and need a boost to your circulation. Depending on the effect you are hoping for, you should choose either a caffeinated or decaffeinated weight loss tea.

Many tea cures include a morning tea as well as an evening tea and thus take the work out of it. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we would not recommend caffeinated tea. Quite the opposite. It has the same effect as coffee. It is therefore advisable to avoid or reduce caffeine-containing substances.

Duration of use

Detox tea often indicates how long you should take it. A distinction is usually made between a 14-day and a 28-day course. This duration should also be adhered to. However, some manufacturers only give a recommended and flexible duration of use, which is not a must. It is important that you try it out for yourself and decide whether detox tea suits you or not.

It is normal to feel unwell or even tired during the first few days of use. It is also not uncommon for your skin to deteriorate at first instead of improving. Your body first has to get used to the food supplement and eliminates the toxins for you. This is noticeable in the skin, among other things. After a few days, however, your well-being increases noticeably and it will be much easier for you to go through your cure.

Of course, this cure can be repeated in the future if necessary, because as mentioned above under "Weight", detox teas contain more than one cure. Nevertheless, you should give yourself a break between cures and not be too hard on yourself. These cures should enhance your well-being and not be stressful and pressured for you.

It is important that you only do a detox cure when you are really ready for it. Only then will it be fun and bring the desired success.

Facts worth knowing about detox tea

What does Detox Tea contain? What ingredients does it contain?

Each detox tea contains different ingredients or herbs that are responsible for a specific effect. Some manufacturers want their tea to mainly promote weight loss and increase well-being. Others, on the other hand, focus on regenerating the body and supporting fluid balance.

Accordingly, the manufacturers select the herbs that support these desired effects. There are also blended detox teas that also use dried fruits. In some detox teas, for example, dried apples are used. These not only provide a fruity-sweet taste, but also ensure increased moisture absorption of the skin with the help of the pectins they contain.

Does detox tea also help with weight loss?

Detox herbal tea has proven itself as a detoxifying product for centuries. In the meantime, it is also appreciated as an effective weight loss product and is steadily gaining popularity due to its versatile effects. The tea cure has disinfecting and detoxifying properties. Among other things, these lead to a reduction in the feeling of hunger, stimulation of the metabolism, fat burning and digestion, and the flushing of harmful substances from the body.

Apart from taking the tea, the basis for a healthy weight reduction is therefore a healthy, balanced diet. Pure fasting should be avoided for weight loss, as a yo-yo effect can occur after the fasting cure if one does not change one's diet. In addition, the sacrifice involved in a fasting cure is enormous, which is why many people often give up pure fasting.

Does the Detox Tea Diet help with acne?

As you have now learned, detox tea flushes toxins from the body. These toxins are also removed through the skin, which can improve the skin's appearance in the long term. Those starting a detox tea diet may complain for the first few days that their skin appearance deteriorates. This is solely due to the fact that the body can also absorb toxins through the skin, which causes blemished skin for a short time.

However, if you don't let yourself be distracted by this, you will notice day after day that the impure skin and even acne can be reduced and even disappear. However, this effect varies from person to person and cannot be generalised. In other words, it can make for clearer skin, but it doesn't have to. Nevertheless, it can be said that detox tea will make the skin look fresher and healthier and ensure an alert appearance.

Before you buy a detox tea, pay attention to the ingredients and keep your success goal in mind. You should also research the effects of the tea on the internet.
