In-moulding technology for helmets refers to an injection moulding process. The outer plastic shell of the ski helmet, which is usually made of polycarbonate or ABS plastic, is welded to hard foam. This manufacturing technique enables greater stability, lightness and durability.

To ensure the safety and reliability of a ski helmet, the right fit is of great importance. To choose the right size, you should know your head circumference.

Did you know that you can easily find out whether a ski helmet fits well? If the helmet, with the chin strap open, moves the scalp with movement without causing noticeable pressure points, it usually fits well. Also, the helmet should not be able to be pushed to the side when you apply pressure to the left or right.

You can easily measure this yourself with a tape measure by placing it just above your eyebrows and pulling it around your head. The ski helmet should not slip when you move your head. Tip: Intense UV radiation can also cause the helmet materials to age more quickly. It is therefore best to avoid storing the helmet in direct sunlight and in high heat. Solvents such as thinners should also not be used for cleaning, as they attack the plastic and thus reduce the protection. Furthermore, you should bear in mind that old ski helmets are far behind in the development of materials and ventilation. New concepts allow for lighter materials in the production of ski helmets and better, variable ventilation. So if you ski with an old helmet, you often have to accept comfort disadvantages.
